omg. i want this car. plz.
priorities.
you know, it’s weird how priorities change.
i was thinking about my life last year & how different it is now. i would go out all the time, went to shows all the time, i was never home. now, i’m never home, but i feel like for better reasons. everyone who says that love is a hoax, that love is silly, has never experienced it. once you have it, everything seems to change.
don’t get me wrong, i still love my music & i still go to some shows, i’ve just cut back a LOT. the only band on my priority list right now is red wanting blue. those guys are just so sweet & amazing & talented. i could gush about them for hours.
jamie said something to me over the summer that really hit home, in a good way. i was upset because i was missing the HBA & RWB double header in august & he looked at me & said, “what do these bands do for you?” i was like “well, the music of course.” then he said, “NO, what do the bands do for YOU? they make the music for everyone.” and that got me really thinking. over the past few years, i’ve invested so much time, energy, & money into all of these bands… & for what? the music will always be there, i’ll always have that. but i can only count on one hand (not even that) the number of bands who have gone out of their way to help me. it really opened my eyes on what’s really important.
because of that, i really started evaluating everything & everyone in my life & unfortunately, two people who i thought were two of my closest friends, got the boot. there’s nothing really to say about that, they weren’t the people who i thought they were. i wish them both all the best, though.
now, instead of gallivanting all over the country following bands with friends, i spend weekends with jamie & our friends. i’m enjoying this time just being in love & finally feeling a sense of calm.
i haven’t used this that much, so there goes my first real post. whee.
